IGP meets Bono East Regional Minister

The Inspector-General of Police Mr. James Oppong-Boanuh on his Regional tour to ascertain first-hand information on preparedness of the various regions towards the 2020 general elections, has met with the Bono East Regional Minister, Honourable Kofi Amoakohene who is also the Member of Parliament for Atebubu-Amantin in the Bono East Region to discuss matters pertaining to Policing in the region.

The Inspector-General of Police Mr. James Oppong-Boanuh on his Regional tour to ascertain first-hand information on preparedness of the various regions towards the 2020 general elections, has met with the Bono East Regional Minister, Honourable Kofi Amoakohene who is also the Member of Parliament for Atebubu-Amantin in the Bono East Region to discuss matters pertaining to Policing in the region.

The Honourable Minister expressed concern for increasing security threats including armed robbery and kidnapping by herdsmen, therefore, appealing to the IGP for more Officers.

In a response, the IGP stated that more police officers have been posted to the region to beef up police strength for maximum security and protection in the upcoming elections and beyond.

Present at the meeting were the Deputy Regional Minister, the Regional Coordinating Director and REGSEC Members.

“We are ready and everything will be successful but we will still need the support of Traditional Council to dealt with any issue that will fall on our hands”, IGP said.
