Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has called on all Ghanaians to take advantage of the festive season “to reaffirm our faith, hope and belief in God”.

Addressing a congregation at the Victory Bible Church International in Accra in the company of his wife, Mrs Samira Bawumia, and other officials of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Christmas Day, Dr Bawumia said: “…As Ghanaians, we have every good reason to be thankful to God for how far He has brought us and urged all citizens to use the festive period to reaffirm our faith, hope and belief in God and also help build a prosperous and peaceful Ghana”.

Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo, in his Christmas message to the nation on Christmas Eve, preached peace and unity in the aftermath of the just-ended 2020 general elections in which he was re-elected for a second term.

“Our nation is united and at peace. We continue to be a beacon of democracy on the continent having conducted even in the midst of the pandemic a transparent, free, fair, credible and safe general election, which have been recognised by both local and international observers,” he said.

He continued: “Let us be a blessing on the lives of those in need, and through our actions, bring a good cheer to all”.

“I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May the Christmas season bring you joy and the New Year usher a new era of blessing and growth and for everyone you hold dear.”
